Michelle Hughes, CPA, Audit Manager, majored in accounting and earned her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College, in Worcester, MA. With over fifteen years in public accounting, Michelle’s previous experience includes having worked for a mid-size regional public accounting firm in both their Newton, MA and Providence, RI locations.
She has built a strong expertise in tax and advising small businesses clients in the set-up and operation of their QuickBooks.
Her experience with large corporations and partnerships includes researching and solving complex tax issues, and preparation of GAAP financial statements. She has successfully aided clients in the abatement of tax penalties.
Industries served consist of legal, medical, professional and consulting services, automobile sales, manufacturing, franchising, non-profit, construction and real estate development.
Michelle has a passion for mentoring staff and providing educational seminars. She is an active consultant with the Center for Women and Enterprise in Providence, RI and member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Societies of CPA’s.
She is current Board Member of the East Bay Coalition for the Homeless, a program of the East Bay Community Action Program.
Michelle resides in Bristol, RI with her husband, two sons, and their dog buddy. She enjoys gardening, decorating, art, walking, and trips to the beach.
